Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
My mother (in Florida) was told her rent payment was going to be increased $53 per month when her yearly lease expired. After she and management signed the new lease, she didn't notice until days later that it had the original amount of monthly rent on it. Are they held to this original amount for a year or is she obligated to sign a new lease with the new amount because of their typographical error?

Seek some legal help. If it was a mutual mistake of fact, it may be voidable. If it was a unilateral mistake of fact, the landlord may be stuck with their deal.

Since the increase was discussed, it appears to be a mutual mistake and can be voided. She should sign the corrected lease.
