Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

moved out of boyfriends home months ago, still don't have belongings

Last Dec. I moved into home with boyfriend lock, stock, and barrel. He then became violent so I moved out end of Feb. We continued relationship but his repeated promises to help move furniture back to my home remained unfulfilled. Two weeks ago he passed away and his family has left no doubt they blame me. Was told NEVER to contact them again. Don't want trouble, but want furniture. Is there any way they could legally claim my belongings? Would I have any legal recourse in the event of damage done or theft? Have been in contact with boyfriends brother every day for week asking about belongings. Not getting anywhere. Suggestions??

If it's worth it, file suit against any one in wrongful possession of the furniture. I would personally consult with an attorney before filing suit. Good luck.
