New neighbor with hearing impairment

I have a new neighbor in the apartment above me. They have a hearing impairment and consequently I am being awakened by their TV and alarm clock at odd hours such as 1:00 a.m. or 3:30 a.m in the early morning. The manager has talked with them and offers no further help. They also will not let me out of my lease or ask the new neighbor to move.

Excessive noise is a common complaint of apartment dwellers. Unfortunately, it comes with the teritory. Inquire of your landlord if he will cancel your lease and be prepared to offer a compromise fee. You can also advertise for a tenant to replace you.
