Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
I was at my neighborhood pool (run by a CDD) the weekend and was taking pictures of my children. I was told (not asked) by a pool employee that he needed to review my pictures to make sure that "I wasn't taking any indecent pictures or any pictures of anyone else's kids". (I assure you, I wasn't!!)
I was taken off guard and just handed over my camera and let him look at all of the pictures on it.
After some thought and research, I realized that the CDD does not have this policy posted at the pool and does not have it included in their rules and regulations that are on their website . I called the general manager of the pool the next day to verify that there was a policy and she said that there is.
I wonder though, is it legal for them to review the pictures on my camera, especially since I was doing nothing suspicious? It seems as though it could be an invasion of my privacy considering that my camera is my personal property and I could have had private pictures from another day on the camera that I don't think they have any right to see.

You are correct. You should not have just handed over the camera and let them look at all of your pictures. How do you take "indecent" pictures of people in public places?
