Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
A neighbor's 1/2 breed pitbull killed my dog (dashund) on my driveway. Their dog ran out accidentally and killed my dog on my property. What do I have the right to do? What claim do I have?

You can sue them for the damages that their dog has caused. Unfortunately, in Florida a pet is considered tangible personal property, so you probably will not be able to collect from your neighbor for anything other than the value of your pet. It is unlikely that you can get the high dollar damages you desire for the anguish and hurt you feel from the death of your pet.
