Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

what is a partition really?

I own property as an investment with another individual that wants

to sell earlier than we had planned. I am in the process of getting a

loan to buy his share, however I am getting threatening notices

that he wil file a partition. What are my rights as a co- owner of the

property willing to purchase it? how long does it take to file a

parttion? once it is filed, can the property be sold othewise?

what else can I do to protect my investment.

What does a judge look at when a person brings this partition in

front of them?

Re: what is a partition really?

A partiton action involves the court ordered sale of the property. The court will give you the opportunity to buy your partner out so have the funds ready.
