Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

What does a person who has the life estate who is still living do to relinquish the property back to remaindermen before she dies. She has already moved out and turned utilities off. Does she need to sign something saying she is relinquishing her rights to property of her own free will before she dies?

By abandoning, with no intent to return, you have relinquished your entitlement. However, i would so indicate in writing so they will know you have no obligation to maintain the property.
