Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Power of Attorney to change property deed

I own a piece of property with my mother, who is currently in a nursing home. I would like to remove her name from the property using the power of attorney that she has granted me. It is a ''general power of attorney''. I have received many conflicting answers that I can use the POA and some people have told me that I can't use the POA. Thanks so much

Re: Power of Attorney to change property deed

If your mother is not incompetent, have her sign a quit claim deed (which you will also sign) conveying title to the property from your mother and you to only you, have it recorded properly, and that will resolve your problem.
