Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

My primary residence is jointly owned with right of survivorship with my girlfriend of 10 years and jointly homesteaded. I have a personal judgment on my credit report. We want to sell the house and buy another which will be owned and homesteaded the same way . When funds from the sale are held for a few months as cash till we close on the new house and homestead it, is there a danger of losing some of those funds to the judgment? Is it easy for them to find out about the sale of the house? What can I do to avoid the loss of funds to the judgment?
