Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Is promise to renew a rental contract enforcable
After speaking with the landlord, he promised to renew the lease contract for another 2 years. I made some extensive renovation of the apartment and now he refused to renew the lease. Is his promise to renew the lease enforceable?

Re: Is promise to renew a rental contract enforcable
Unless there was an option to renew the lease then the renewal of the lease may not be enforceable. However, you may have a claim for fraud in the inducement or pormissory estoppel for the value of the renovations that you put in, in reliance on the landlord's statement that it would renew for 2 more years.
Good luck,
