Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Property bought by inheritance

If I used land given to me by my father ($60,000), money from my father ($35,000) and money from a car settlement ($25,000) to purchase our house, land and pool, can I get the house in a divorce? House valued at approximately $130,000 now and needs floors redone, painting (approx. $12,000???) I also put approximately 3 times the money in each month for expenses and he only gives me $350.00 biweekly toward expenses. I am only concerned about the house and money I have acquired in my retirement accounts and left over from my father's estate and my car that I also paid for from money from my father. I will gladly give him half of the furniture and his car and joint bank accounts. Thank you for your time.

Re: Property bought by inheritance

Unless you/your attorney can establish that you have a special equity in the property, then it is merely another asset of the marital estate.

While your factural scenario should be related to the court it by no means guarantees your request.
