Property buyout, does it buy the lease as well??

We have a townhouse in Florida, and recently our landlord filed for bankruptcy. At this point, as protection for us, he made us sign a new lease, telling us that whoever bought the property would then have to buy the lease as well. However, the company that has contacted us after the sale says that this is untrue, and that we have 3 weeks to move out or be evicted. Is this a scare tactic used to get us out? Or do we have the right to stay due to the lease?

Prior to giving any advice I would have to see the court order which authorized the sale. The order could have provided either for purchase subject to existing leases or free of them.
