Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Property Easement

The City wants to take a 10' easement of our road frontage. We are a handful of property owners who are holding out - we do not feel comfortable with the situation. Can the city just eminent domain our property and how long will it take? Thanks

Yes, the city can take property by eminent domain if the homeowners or property owners will not voluntarily sell it to them. You should retain a qualifed land use/eminent domain attorney to represent you to get the best possible terms. It is a very specialize area of the law with limited practitioners.
