Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
I own property with a fenced in yard, replaced fence 5 years ago. Next door neighbors recently acquired 2 pit bulls, puppies which are about 45 lbs, for a total of 4 dogs. These dogs are bouncing off my fence bowing the slats & knocking attached ornaments to the ground. A few yrs back, these neighbors attached barbed wire, wood & nails around the top of my fence without consent. Called dog officer as talking to these neighbors is a brick wall. Haven't got anywhere with law enforcement, was told that I should keep my own dog in when their dogs are out. My question is if you own 4 dogs, should they not be detained in their own fenced in area & what is the legal avenue I have to take to stop this situation? I am disabled & on fixed income & cannot be replacing another fence.

Local ordinances would control how individual must maintain their premises with dogs. Check with you local government. Law enforcement would not be the appropriate place to go. Probably code enforcement. there may be a claim for the damage to your fence, but the pursuit of that claim will be costly.
