Adjoing pChain link covers 2/3 of my property but not on legal line. Pig fence on 1/3 of remaing property, also not on legal line. Fences have been up 20 plus years Fences 2 feet on my side of legal line. roperty sold 2 years ago and new owner claim property line is the old fences. He had his property surved so he knows where line is at. Can I do anything to protect my property/

If the property has had a fence on it for that long, it may not be your property any more because of a thing called adverse possession, which essentially means that if someone squats on your land with a fence, they own it. There are some other requirements, though, before a squatter can take your land, so you should see a real estate lawyer right away.

If he's wrong, you can force him to move the fence off your land.
