Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Property not mentioned in a Divorce

My father deeded me an inheritance of land in 1999. I was married at that time but he chose to deed it only to me for life. When I divorced in 2003, it was unspoken between myself and my ex that the property was mine. He has never laid a claim to it. Now in 2006 I am trying to put a mobile on it and they say they must have an affidavit from my ex to that effect. I left him due to domestic violence and am afraid to contact him again. Is this affidavit necessary for an inheritance or is there a waiver of some kind I can sign?

you need to clear title of husbands potential interest Best way is to have husband sign quit claim deed to you this will show you as only owner. Caution this advice is based upon question and unknown items such as actual title and any other claims. Have a real estate atty draw deed and do search
