Property Title
I bought a house with my first husband. When we divorced I let him live in it with the provision that if he sells he will give me half. He remarried and took me off the title without my knowledge and put his new wife on and then refinanced. Do I have any recourse?

Verbal agreements, particulary regarding property, are not easy to enforce. But we may be able to negotiate a settlement or possibly sue to enforce the oral contract. Feel free to contact us.

It is impossible for your husband to legally take you off the title if you were on it in the first place. If you were not, you still had a possible interest that should
have been addressed by the court during the dissolution of marriage.
I would suggest that you meet with a qualified attorney who can review the divorce documents and the facts of the matter regarding any ownership interest in the property and then advise you of your rights. Depending on what your ex did, you may be able to file a suit for fraud (if he forged your signature) or if never on the deed you may have other actions to enforce your interests, if any.
