Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
I purchased a condo in Ft Myers Florida. The purchase closed Sept 29th.The condo association assessed the property for 500.00 on Sept 2nd.They now say i am responsible for this assessment.I have clear title to the property. They are threatening forclosure. The condo is free and clear. My question is,is that if i didn't own the property on Sept 2nd,how can i be held liable for this assessment?

If the assessmane was made before the sale, it attached, usually, to the property. Depoending on your purchase contract, the seller may be responsible for reimbursing you for the assessment.
