If the property is vacant, and recently platted, it could be that there was a survey and platting error. If the property has a house on it, OR if you have owned this for a long time, then you may have the right to keep the property that you believed that you bought. This is a very fact intensive question, and neither a plat or a survey has more "pull" than the other.
