I am purchasing a newly built home by pulte builders in ft. myers, florida, for cash. by law, do i have to purchase title insurance.

no, you should not be required to purchase title insurance. that said, you are protecting yourself by doing it and the cost of same is likely minimal in the scheme of the costs. hire an attorney to represent you.
