Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Quit Claim Deed

I purchased a Condo with my Boyfriend in July of 2005, but because of his credit we didn't put him on the loan. At the time we were told that his name could not go on the Title/Deed because he was not on the loan. I contacted the borrower a few months after closing and they advised that they do not have a problem with someone being added to the Title/Deed.

I wanted to know how I can go about adding to him to the Title/Deed, since he is as much an owner as I am. I was advised to file a ''Quit Claim Deed'' and wanted some further information as to how this is done, and whether I have to do it on my own or get some type of legal representation.

Thanks.

Re: Quit Claim Deed

Either you or your attorney can prepare, execute and file it with a Tax form at your county clerk.
