Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Raising my rent

I have lived in my apartment for eleven years. My new property manager wants to increase my rent by thirty-five dollars. I was told by the old property manager that after living in the apartment as long as I have that the landlord can only increase my rent by ten dollars per month, per lease. Is this true and is there any way I can provide documentation on this to the new property manager?

Re: Raising my rent

if you have a valid written lease, you are both bound by its terms. If not, the rent can be raised to any amount. We have no such thing as "rent control" in Florida
