Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
What happens if a real estate agent shows your home (and you are asked to not be present) and when you get back you find the property was damaged? We have no idea if the damage was caused by the agent or the potential buyers, but it definitely occurred while they were inside the property, while we were gone. Since we did not actually see who did the damage, what is our recourse? We don't want to be angry with the person trying to sell the home, but we can't afford to spend $300+ to fix things everytime they show it! Is there a bond that a real estate agent has to have in order to show homes? Can we ask the agent to have the damage fixed?

Yes. You can make a claim. All real estate agents should be bonded.
