real estate being destroyed

i own property jointly with a ex boyfriend, i would like to split the properties up but have found out that he has destroyed them by ripping out appliances, cabinets, toliet bowls, insulation and skirting. can i be reimbursed for the damage he has caused to the properties? he never asked me for permission. we do not have any written arrangement as far as the properties.
