found rental house in paper. Got 2 year lease for $700 mo/$700 dep.-sent deposit. Turned on utilities-moved in. Water Leak in house. Landlord said she pays for it. Then Landlord says ''No Deposit''. Will use as 1st mo rent instead.SON calls today and says void lease, move out-Only Landlord we knew about is not owner and son says he is-and he wants $800 mo and 1st/last/deposit. What can we do??

Meet with a local landlord/tenant attorney to handle. Not much I can advise you of without reviewing your lease to determine if it is valid and what the ramifications are IF the landlord is actually not the landlord.

Sounds like you SHOULD have a valid claim against someone though. Best of luck.
