I put $15,000 down on a property with a promise to put another $45,000 contigent upon the sale of my home. The contract expired on Decmber 6, but my home still hasn't sold. The seller is threating to keep my $15,000 and calling it Earnest money (it didnt' say that in the contract) and put the house back on the market, unless I pay him another $500 by today, to extend the contract. And After March 10th he will expect me to pay $1800 a month for rent that will not go towards the sale of the house. None of that was in the contract, can he do that?
