Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

real propery

My X boyfriend filed a lean against my home 2 years ago, and then did a lean pending approx 1 year ago, after spending $7 thousand in legal fees, nothing has happened and no further filing were made on this case now for a year. The case is still open, with no activity for over a year. What should I do now to close case and have property lien and lien pending removed?

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.

Since you hired an attorney, you should be directing your questions to that attorney. If there has been no action for over one year, your attorney should file a motion to dismiss for lack of prosecution due to the inactivity in the file. Generally, a Lis Pendens (which is what I believe you meant in your question) is dissolved after one year unless perfected by a court suit.
