Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
We just received our 'trial payment plan' from our bank for our long-awaited mortgage modification. Several days before receiving the plan we were served with the forclosure complaint. That complaint gives us 20 days to respond to it. My bank and thier attorney both say that I can submit a simple explanation of the trial plan as a response to the complaint. I was assuming I would need to hire an attorney to respond for us to protect all our rights, etc. Of course, I would rather save the $800 and respond myself. Is this a sound approach?

If you are sure you have no defenses to the foreclosure, your certainly free to go it alone. If you have questions, don't.
NO way to know if this is sound without seeing the paperwork. You should respond to the complaint so no default is entered against you.
