Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

i recently locked myself out of my apartment and the landlord never assist with this matter, nor did he return any of my phone calls! However when i finally had the opportuntiy to speak with him he told me that being locked out of my apartment was not his problem and that i should have called an locksmith. I did not do that, i ended up breaking into my own apartment and the damage that it cause he's saying that i have to pay for all the damages if i want it fix. My question is: what am i able to do about this and being that i was locked out should he(landlord) have assist me with this matter?

There is no obligation to do so. It is your apartment. If you damaged the apartment to get in, it is your responsibility to repair it.
