Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Recovering expenses due to postponed closing

The buyers bank did not have the paperwork ready on time for the closing on the house I sold. The buyers left on vacation the next day so closing did not take place until a month later. I had to pay for extra days on a rental truck, take time off from work, had to have my utilities reconnected, and also lost several dollars worth of food due to no electricity. Is there anything I can do to recover this money? The buyer took receipts and a list of expenses to the bank, but I never heard anything from them.

Depending upon your contract only the buyer may be responsible.
