Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
I rent a house in Saint Augustine, FL and recently installed a floodlight/security camera because of vandalous kids egging the place.
My landlord got angry about it and is trying to tell me it's illegal.
It is pointed at the front of the property to the street and there is nothing in the lease about modifications or improvements.
I even used a temporary mounting using double sided tape because I knew she'd have a kniption if I installed something permanent.
Is she right? Is this illegal?
Signed, Confused.

Your lease controls what you can do to the property. If it is really silent, then not improper and would need to be removed when you leave. Nothing illegal about having the camera/flood light.
