Rental property contract fraudulent

I entered into a rental aggreement with a landlord for a 1 year lease; less than 35 days later, I recieved word the house was going to foreclosure and did so. Doesn't this constitute fraud? If so, is there a law that he can be charged with? We moved to this home because my previous landlord did the same thing. I feel we were taken advantage of, especially since he knew our circumstances. Thank you!
