Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Rental property taking me to collections for an unpaid balance.

My question is what do I do to reboot an action taken by a rental property. Clear Lake Apartment is taking me to collection for an unpaid balance. This balance is inaccurate and absurd. I tried talking to them but they will not talk to me about they just keep referring me to the collections agency. I never incurred this balance and believe I should not have to pay for it. What do I do?

You can file suit. You can wait to be sued, then defend yourself. You can also request from the collection agency all documentation and information that supports the alleged debt, which the collection agency should provide to you upon written request. Request such information in writing by fax and certified mail - return receipt requested, and keep proof of delivery.
