Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Residential lease for SFH

I am renting a SFH from an owner for a specific duration of one year. I have reviewed the Residential Lease and do not see any specific clause that stipulates the minimum amount of time required to provide notice of termination to landlord. we intend to vacate after our lease ends. What is the ''minimum'' amount of time, if any, that I should provide notice of vacating premises without occuring additional costs or litiigation? Thanks.

I have no idea what you mean by an SFH. I have never heard that term in real estate in 27 years of practice. As to real estate law, there is no standard time to give notice. As a courtesy, you should give your notice as early as possible so that the landlord can begin the search for a new tenant. If there is a notice provision in your lease, you must comply with whatever it says or you may have a financial penalty.

Re: Residential lease for SFH

Since you rented for 1 year, there is none. I would contact the landlord 60 days prior to termination, so he has a chance to rerent and you have a chance to renew. Good luck.
