Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Reverse mortgage
My mother passed away recently and her name supposed to be the only one on the title. Somehow, me and my brother just found out that his name is also on the title. I remembered that he did sign the paper to remove his name off the title 2 years ago but I don't know how his name still listed on the title. My concern is can the reverse mortgage force my brother to pay for the difference if the house is sold less than the amount owed on the mortgage. The realtor said that the house will be listed as a short sale because of the house market condition. What is the best option available for my brother in this situation. Thank you very much

Re: Reverse mortgage
If he did not sign the mortgage note, he is not responsbile.
