Rights to Property

If a tenant of a rented apartment/house lets a subject live with him for a few months but does not make the subject pay rent does he have a right to tell that subject to vacate immediately or does he have to go through an eviction process? Would it change if he made him pay rent but was not on the lease?

If he is a mere guest he can be asked to leave immediately. If he was paying some kind of rent advanced written notice to vacate must be given. Good luck.
