Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I have been served with a lawsuit in my foerclosure proceeding. It says I have 20 days to answer or lose the case. I intend on givung up the house but would like to delay this as long as I can. After I answer the complaint in writting , how much longer after the 20 days do I have ,more or less, and is the court required to give me a certain amount of days to move? Thanks

You should retain an attorney right away. It is possible to delay the foreclosure 6 months or more if proper actions are taken.

My firm handles such cases. Email me if you would like to schedule a consultation.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Our office is handling a lot of foreclosure defense cases. There may be confusion as to who is the proper party to initiate the foreclosure, and you may be able to stay in the house for a long time while this issue is sorted out. Also, you may be a good candidate for bankruptcy. We would be happy to speak with you about these options. We offer a free initial consultation.
