if i share ownership of a home with someone else who does not live in the home with me, are they allowed to come in the home anytime they want without my consent

Possibly. It depends upon your agreement. If you don't have an agreement, then what give one owner exclusive right of use over the other owner?

Think of it this way, are you using the premises without the other persons consent?

This is why it is important to have an agreement concerning use or management of co-owned property before purchasing the property.
