shed encroachment

Is there anything we can do to keep from removing a shed that was erected over 20-30years ago 4 ft on an ajoining easment property that was part of a new purchase of an investor just bought , and wants us to remove the shed the 4 feet into his boundary. (The sellers never approached our now-deceased mother for at least as long as she had her shed back in the 70's.?? when it was put in.
