Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

if i co signed a loan and my name is not on the deed . the owner died and the estate owns the property.

the mortgage co wants me to pay for it. the estate will not sign it over to me so i do not want to

pay for property some one else owns.

can the mortage co take my 401k or my other property or my bank account.

You are liable on the loan, and if so, may be able to file a claim against the estate in probate.

There are ways to protect some assets, but you need to consult with an attorney.
