My sister and my father purchased a home in florida...cash paid no mortgage. my father just passed away and left his entire estate to my mother. What do we do about the deed to home? cam my mother have her name put onto it and does my sister have to pay any taxes on this?

The answer depends on how title to the property reads. If it was owned jointly with right of survivorship, your sister is the owner. If not, a probate of your father's estate would be required.

Hey, Slater is right. You will have to probate the house in the county where it is located if it did not pass automatically to your sister. Any Florida probate attorney can handle it for you.
