Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Small Claims Court - If I win the case
I'm getting ready to take my old landlord to court regarding my security deposit. It's a pretty clean case since he's not given back my deposit, nor explained why he won't return it. My question is: When I pay the money ($200) to file my claim, will I get all this money back from him...and what happens if he still doesn't pay me in full even after the court orders him to? He lives in California and I live (his property) is in Florida.

Re: Small Claims Court - If I win the case
If you prevail in small claims court you are entitled to a judgment which should include your costs and court fees. If you win and he does not pay you will have to proceed with enforcement actions. You should record any judgment with the clerk's office in the county where the landlord has property and attach a lien to any property he has there.
If you have to enforce judgment you may need to hire an attorney and you would again be entitled to your attorney's fees.
