Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida
Small claims judgement
I was recently informed by the court that I was to pay my ex-wife $820 for a small claims judgement... the problem is... I simply do not have the money... she is telling me that if I do not pay her then she is going to take my property or whatever legal action she needs to get what she won... would it be possible for me to just pay her a little each month to keep from having my things taken?

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.
If you and she can reach an agreement, then it would be possible to make payments. You should have said this in court as the court would have drawn up the necessary paperwork to put this in writing. Now, one of you will either have to do this yourself or get an attorney to draft an agreement.
