special accessment lien found after closing
I purchased a home in Aug 2001 and in Jan 2002, I received a notice that a special accessment lien had been placed on my home in 2000. The title company is now refusing to pay the lien.

I would have to read your contract and the title policy but generally the seller and the insurance company shoud be responsible for this lien. Who made the assessment and weren't they contacted before the closing? Did you have an attorney?
