Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

State sales tax and County bed tax

My legal residence is Fla. I have a second home in Ga. which I wish to rent to Fla vacationers. All of my business is conducted in Fla including collection of rental monies. The state of Ga. imposes a sales and the county imposes a bed tax on cabin rentals.

If all business is conducted in Fla. and Fla sales tax is paid to the state of Fla, does that relieve me legally from Ga. sales and county bed tax?

Re: State sales tax and County bed tax

I am not admitted in Georgia nor am I a tax law practioner so I cannot give advice on your question. A general reply would be that Geargia can properly levy and collect the taxes that arise by reason of events the occur within its jurisdiction. You may be entitled to a credit on your Florida taxes.
