Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Statute of Limitations

My landlord has withheld my security deposit of $1100.00 upon completion of the lease for reasons I believe are normal wear & tear while living. What are my statute of limitations if a suit is filed against him eight months later? What could he countersue for?
