Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

can they sue me & my property?

My brother had a hospital bill of $10,000+. He was at the hospital from Mar18-19. Me and him bought a house together on Mar21. So on the deed it has his name & mine. Can we transfer the deed to only my name? If so, does that mean the hospital can't go after the property? or can they still sue my brother against the property? The problem is my brother doesn't have health insurance and he's a college student & doesn't work. He can't pay for the bill. Thanks in advance...

Re: can they sue me & my property?

If this house qualifies as homestead property it is exempt from any judgment lien. If it does not, your transfer, unsported by any consideration($) would be considered a fraudulent tranfer as to creditors.
