Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

I MOVED INTO A FRIEND OF A FRIEND'S place a week ago to clean up the place and help the guy after a heart attack - he agreed that i would not pay any rent in exchange for helping him. I left the place yesterday because this is too much for me - the place is a pigsty and the guy is too much for me to handle I called him to arrange for my stuff to be picked up today, but he changed the locks and does not answer the phone - I called the cops, but the officer said he could not open the door for me - now I cannot go to work without clothes or make-up and the guy refuses to answer my calls - what can I do
