How much notice does one have to give a tenant advising them their lease will not be renewed?

It depends on what your lease says or, if you have no lease or your lease doesn't say, the current length of your tenancy. On a month-to-month tenancy with no lease, you must give a 15-day notice. You are usually safe with a 30-day notice.
