Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Florida

Tenant rights

I have been living in my rental house for 8 months. The plumbing has been backing up since we moved in, and plumbers have been called out several times. It has taken until now for them to diagnose the problem (they haven't been working well with us). I was just told the landlord is unable to pay for the repairs, and that our only option is to get out of the lease. I requested this in october because of all the problems, and they refused nor were they willing to lower the rent. Our house has been flooded so many times with raw sewage and they have known since day 1. I live in FL. What are my options? Would I be entitled to any type of compensation?

Re: Tenant rights

If your property (or health in rare circumstances) has been damaged, you may be able to sue the landlord for the damage. Other than that, your only option is to accept the landlord's (written) offer to move out.
